    Default Georgetown Trip Intel

I'm headed to Georgetown next week for work. So, I figured I'd drag the boat and see about catching a fish or thirty in the evenings.

If anybody can help with some direction on where to launch a 17ft jon boat and what they might be eating that differs from everywhere else on the SC coast, please do shoot me a PM.

    Bonus question:

The wife is going to be in Myrtle Beach at her mama's next week too. Grandma has offered to keep the kids for a night so that she can come down for a good rompin' in the hotel (the rompin' part is clearly my idea).

Where should I haul her for supper one night? Anywhere we can take a short boat ride to?

    Thanks and all that!

One option is to unload on the sampit. There’s usually some spot tails to be found up the river a piece. Then roll down to one of the public docks around Front St and eat at one of the restaurants there. We just did this last Friday. We ate at Rolling Local and it was really good. If the wind is calm there’s a lot of water to be explored and fished if you leave the sampit and go into Winyah or North Inlet

North Inlet is tricky even for the experienced person, so be careful back there.

And you can drop your boat in my yard if you need storage. Holler at me.

Good for you. We went out on Thursday and it was some of the worst fishing I've had. Nothing but sharks and rays. Wind was blowing like hell, but even considering the weather, it was terrible.

Hell, I don't even know where I'm staying yet.

Hotels were high. Might rent an AirBnB.

Both are crazy expensive in town. If you were going to stay at the Hampton, then I was going to suggest leaving the boat at the marina for the week. Easy to jump on in the evening and short ride to front street. Any flavor of food can be found on Front St. Just dock at the public dock and go for a walk.

    That's a good thought.

Might be worth the convenience with work paying the bill anyhow.

    Yep
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
