Default Greed dot for my 43x MOS

A few coworkers and I did a range day last week at which I had the first chance to shoot my 43XMOS. One thing I realized after shooting another dudes 43 with a red dot is that I preferred the dot sight.

My reading shows that I'm already limited to those cut to the RMSc standard to avoid having to either use an adapter plate or have to mill the sides studs down. So that kinda slims down my options.

I know there's a lot of choices out there, but one preference I've already determined is I'm not a fan of the boxy ones. I prefer a rounded lens. Swampfox Liberty seems to be my frontrunner right now but wanted to hear any input from the braintrust to see what y'all are using.

Looked at other options such as the TruGlo XR21 but reviews seem to reveal an widespread issue with the shake awake feature not working. There were so many negative reviews that it instantly tells me "stay away". Vortex Venom was another option but it doesn't have the shake awake and that's something that seems pretty standard and I would prefer to have.

Ready to hear any other recommendations.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

I've carried a Holosun 407k on a Glock 48 daily for the last 3 1/2 years. No complaints whatsoever.

I’ve had a Holosun 407K also, and my only issue is that for some reason goes through batteries faster than expected. It may need repair, not sure.

Can't do RMRcc, as my slide comes cut with the RMSc pattern. Still shopping around.

RMRs are what ever other red dot wishes they were. Unfortunately, they're not great options for the 43 MOS, due to the mounting plates. They mount just too high. I ended up going with a new slide cut specifically for them from Brownell. It's a game changer and the way it should be from Glock originally.

That’s odd. Mine is on my belt for 12 plus hours a day and I change the battery once a year.

Shake wake coming in when not being used maybe?

I agree. Mine is worn at least twice a day when walking our dog around the property, and then when I'm on a client visit, but it should last more than 4-6 months, for sure.

I suppose that's possible, but when I'm not wearing it it's placed in a location that shouldn't get much if any vibration or movement. I sent an email to Holosun, but haven't heard back so guess I'll just call when I think of it.

** Added... I double checked my email folders and did find a reply from Holosun that got buried. They agree that the battery life doesn't sound right and that I just need to send them a picture of the unit along with the serial number and they'll set up an RMA for a warranty check-up and repairs, if needed. Can't knock that...

From all the reading I've done one thing became obvious... the sight I decide on WILL have the battery accessible from the side or on the top. There is a zero percent chance I'll be removing the sight every time I gotta replace the battery.

Lots of options to sift through out there. By the time I find one with RMSc cut and has the look/shape I prefer, along with other features, it has the battery on the bottom. As mentioned, that's a deal breaker.

The Swampfox Liberty was my fave, it checked all the boxes but it's only made with the RMR cut. My goal is not have to use an adapter as it'll make it to tall... or replace or mod the OEM slide, so this one's out. Their other sights for the RMSc cut are bigger than I prefer.

The Shield Reflex is my current front runner. The 2 compromises with this one is there is no green dot option, so I've got to live with the red. Also it doesn't offer shake awake. But with the battery compartment on the side, it's super easy to change it when it does die. Both I'm wiling to live with.

Still shopping though, just to see if there's anything else out there that gives me all the top priorities but with a green dot and possibly shake awake. Long as the battery is easy to get to, this isn't a huge deal.

Decided on the Burris Fastfire 3. Very compact design, smooth lines, external battery access, price point of ~$220. We'll see how it goes on the first after the install and first range day with it.
