Pulling it? Try a slide hammer.
Cut the boot off. Knock the shaft out, go to Harbor Freight and buy you an inexpensive slide hammer and spot weld it to the part stuck in the diff
More fuel = more boost!!

I fought one for several hours on my ranger.
I cut a piece of plate slightly larger than the OD the axle, threaded it for my slide hammer, tacked it, and second slam of the slide hammer it was out. I don’t even waste my time doing it any other way which I am sure there are easier.

Well…
Ended up with a brake rotor from a f-250 for a slide hammer. It probably took 50 kettle bell swings to get it out. Ten years of rust was not good for me.
