    Default 410 sporting clays

Son normally shoots 4 gun skeet so he shoots 410 but we really don’t practice 410 due to cost. Basically practice 20g on skeet and 12g on sporting. On 410 rounds he uses 2 1/2” 9 shot preferably and 8 shot if it’s all we can find. That being said he really enjoys the sub gauge sporting course at the gator cup. He normally sticks with 20 and 28 but wants to give the 410 a try next year.

What combo shot size and choke would you recommend on that course? Probably overthinking this, but figured I’d ask since we have plenty of time till it gets here again.

You won't see big targets on a sub gauge course. I normally shoot 8's with the 410 but 9's will do it as well. Most everything should be inside of 25 yards.

This year's GC had a couple of long birds on the 28 gauge course but overall it's pretty much what Gander described. 8's or 9's should do it.

I would like to add that 8s, maybe 9s, are what you are looking for.

bc clay shooters are as weird as retriever people.

and I dont think you want to shoot 4s or 6s or buckshot.
    or TSS
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

And slugs. Slugs would be a poor option. Your list just seemed a little incomplete.

We don’t shoot much 410. I see lots of opinions on 7.5,and 8 on SC and even strong opinions between 8 and 9 shot on the skeet field. I am far from knowledgeable on any of this stuff and glad to listen to those that are.

This is as close as I can get to a yelp review in the shooting world.
