Default Cadre vs Beyond for sunflower post emergence?

Why isn't Cadre labeled for use in Clearfield sunflowers even though it is commonly and effcitively used?

Has anyone personally compared the efficacy of both of these herbicides?

How similar are the active ingredients?

    Beyond - ammonium salt of imazamox: 2-[4,5-dihydro-4-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-5-oxo-1H-imidazol-2-yl]-5-(methoxymethyl)-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid* . . . . . . . 12.1%

Cadre - ammonium salt of imazapic [(±)-2-[4,5-dihydro-4-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-5-oxo-1H-imidazol-2-yl]-5-methyl-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid]* ............... 23.6%

I've used Cadre on Clearfields before with good results. I dont have a direct comparison with Beyond.

I think they both are weak. They work on the easy to kill weeds but not so much on pigweed and morning glory. That’s been my experience. I still use them. Make sure you use some nitrogen with either. I’m using Imox this year with nitro-surf.

I've been using Impose, which is supposed to be comparable to Cadre and Beyond but I've never added nitrogen. Can you give me a little more information on how you're doing that?

Nitro surf is liquid nitrogen plus surfactant. The nitrogen makes it hotter.

Are you using Nitro Surf at the 2.5 gallons per 100 gallons rate?

I did 3 pt/acre of nitro surf believe that’s the max label rate.

I sprayed 4 oz of imox, 16 oz of clethodim and 3 pt of nitro surf per acre. This is my first year trying flowers so we’ll see how they do.

I did this one year. Bought it from Lowe’s and it worked fine.

I hear people are using DEF as a substitute for nitrogen.
