Default Spring/Summer Garden Fertilizer when planting

Guy I work with suggested putting Blood Meal and Bone Meal in the hole where planting tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc (plants). Then, watering with Fish Emulsion. I have never used these products. Anyone have any experience. Thanks

bone meal has calcium, I just use a handful of lime.. the calcium in them help fight against blossom end rot.

Hand full of pulverized (powdered) lime in the hole and set the plant right on top. Don’t over or under water. Don’t waste money on blood meal or dog food or whatever that weird dude said.

No, I shoot for the 5-10th of April, typically. I got smoked by a March frost once and learned my lesson. We were in the 30s last night. My plan is to bed and lay plastic this week or weekend and if the forecast looks warm, I’ll be in the ground within 9-11 days. Of course something will break and it’ll be 5 more days. I got a new fancy Rain Flo plastic machine I’ve got to figure out this year.

I was wanting to plant this upcoming week.. but it's wild for me with that horse race. I didn't want to put it off another. I knew or figured we'd get one more front, and I think this morning was our last, in our area. I covered every last one late yesterday, and was glad when I had a thin film of ice this morning on the windshield. I just pulled the covers and watered

HS-i have to hand till and use post hole digger to clean out a bigger-than-needed hole. I hope to rent or buy a small gas tiller some day.

i have tomatoes in the ground. maybe a dozen. only 88 more to go. I will wait till salt muck says its time...

Will do. Never heard of what he was talking about but have certainly used lime before. Thanks for the response.
