A spoonie is a kick ass duck.
Ducks are incredible waterfowl.
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

96 mph is crazy to even think about
I am a nobody, that met somebody, that can save anybody.
I think that breaks the previously documented speed record which I believe was held by a canvasback. 90+ is impressive.

I assume that’s with some tail wind but the transmitter views it relative to ground speed
I'm pretty sure the 90 mph record was a Hooded Merganser clock by an airplane.
Canvasbacks are recognized as the fastest ducks at 70 mph.
The GPS on the Shoveler doesn't account for tail winds which migrating birds use.

I’m assuming they clock ducks at longitudinal flight from point A-B.
You clock a ringneck breaking down from 600ft and I bet you he breaks 100mph.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
