I had more than i had seen in a while at my place this past Sunday morning. Lancaster County. No clue what this storm will do to them or if they already hauled ass ahead of it. Not sure they will be able to avoid this one though, regardless of where they go.

Our small outfit in the PeeDee went from ~200 to ~50 sometime during the week between Saturday, 30-December and last Saturday, 6-January

Historically storms like this taketh away more than they giveth. I expect next Saturday to be slim pickings

They've vanished in my neck of the woods. Last year was the best season I've ever had as far as numbers go and this year has been one of the slowest. High water has made it tough.

We shot a banded woody yesterday on a beaver pond in Florence..


It was 4 yers old and banded in Louisanna.

My ducks will leave the corn after a big rain every single time without fail. If there are no acorns they usually back within 2 days. But, I think all the birds I had are in Georgia now

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Sometimes migratory birds do things we don't understand, like just pick up and leave a perfectly suitable food source.

December summer ducks are someone else's January summer ducks. I noticed last Saturday that numbers were way down, on summer ducks at least.
