I would imagine playing mostly lower tiered ACC teams with losing records does get stale

Sounds a bit better than "scratch and peck" or whatever the dirt pecker coaches circuit meet is called.
I've actually enjoyed taking my son to meet some of the coaches over the years. I've met all the people I want to meet at other events so last few years I've enjoyed the oyster roast and drinking beer.
