2oofdork shows up all as per usual, running his mouth and in a bad mood and suddenly fishing ain’t cool anymore.

Black bass reside in the ocean, them with the greenish heads are the best. They have seemed scarce compared to my teen years when you could fill a cooler at ten mile reef.

Yes, of course. Fishing is silly. What the fuck am I thinking? I mean, when I look at it from your perspective, it’s crazy that I would even consider my wife’s idea of a vacation structured around the goal of catching four different bass.

This last sentence really depends on whether or not your phone is working next time you come down.

So, I never did the slam...got the spotted and largemouth back in 2023 then couldn't get the smallmouth. I tried in Cola (lost a nice one at the "take out", I mean nice - maybe 3 pounds). I heard about smallmouth in an odd place so I went there and caught nothing but largemouth.

Since I am unemployed, I went turkey hunting this morning near that odd place so I threw a rod in the car. I really suck at turkey hunting so it wasn't long before I was throwing Rapalas and walking a rocky shore. I worked a bunch of areas without a hit. When I reached the end of the road (start of the stream, actually) I fished hard...nothing.

When I took the last lure off the line and went to put it in my hip-pocket tackle box, I noticed a little green beetlespin that my son must have put in the box for some reason. I know it was him because it still had a piece of the braided line he uses attached. I decided to at least try to catch a bream before going home...50% on the progress meter with 8 and 2/3s months left in 2026...

Iv'e caught them all. My sister is DNR freshwater fisheries and has a bunch of info on those things. Classrooms raise the fry and then they field trip the kids up to release. Government does a solid every now and again...

I've done the "slam" all in one day from a canoe. I didn't know the slam was a thing until reading this. Sent you a PM RH.

    I'm sensing a road trip...

The SCDNR doesn't have a size minimum but I've caught two spotted bass that were just too tiny to consider. This one was close to 2 lbs. They fight much harder than a largemouth of similar size.
