Our ride home from his duck hunt. We didn't kill any birds, so expectations were set appropriately for next year.

This is Titan or otherwise known as the housedog. He was that dog for me. Only survivor of 13 puppies in an accidental litter. He was bottle fed from the time he was born until he could eat soft food. He was half tree stock/half fox walker. The things this dog did in the woods was flat out astonishing. He could trail and jump a deer in a parking lot. He won me a lot of truck hood money. Truly one of the best hounds I’ve ever seen work in the woods. He knew the difference between play and work. One of the few hounds I’ve seen that would stick a track and never break off of it no matter what was going on. When he opened up, you can guarantee the deer that made that track was going to eventually get on their feet. It was frustrating at times when other packs are all around him running then they get out of hearing and he starts chopping. When he chopped, a deer was on their feet and he is fixing to run em until they were dead. He had quite a few catches and killed a few. He hated a whitetail. He would hunt all day, come home, get a bath, and curl up in the bed. He was a dang good one and I miss him daily. We called him Ruh roh around the house. He would talk to you but never bark. It was a cross between a howl and a whine. I never missed chaos until he was gone. His shoes will never be filled.

This is Housedog Kennels Souther Magnolia. She just turned two in October. She is turning into quite the little blood dog. She was needed in the house after we put Titan down. We needed a little more chaos. Her and my son fight like siblings. They play rougher than most siblings do. She is non stop until bed time. I thought bassets were suppose to be calm and laid back but she is the opposite. Extremely well mannered even when she is going crazy. She hates her tail with a passion. At two years old, she will still chase it until she either catches it or falls down dizzy. This is daily for her. She acts like a moron when people are watching. Turn your head, and she’s a genius. Really looking forward to watching her grow as a blood dog.

This is Bagel the Beagle and Snapper. I found Bagel at the mill one weekend and his owner never would call me back or come get him. That was 9 years ago. He’s old and a bum. Pretty sure he’s narcoleptic also. He just runs around and falls down asleep. Snapper is a foxhound that started in the deer woods until she was lost for 8 days. Garmin collar (OG Garmin) and quick track both died. I placed her in a couple hunts inside the pen also but when she got lost, the wife ended her hunting career. Now she is spoiled rotten that neve leaves the wife’s side. She just turned 12.

My boy Hank just finished his 3rd season. Wish I could have gotten him on more birds this season but we take what we can get.

I agree. Love seeing everyone's dog pics. Makes me miss Abby a little more than usual. She went to The Bridge a year ago this week. Probably the sweetest animal I've ever known.
