    I do not know of one in the entire state that I would trust to work on a cap gun.

    We LOST one of the best years ago in Jimson Dunbar. Hell of a friend and taught me a everything I know about a BROWNING made in BELGIUM!! I miss that Man!

    Bill Jacobs - Bolt and Barrel

    He has a shop out near Lake Greenwood and has done several jobs for me over the years, muzzle brake, fixed an old Remington shotgun for me, installed a middle bead on a shotgun. Always reasonably priced and a decent turnaround time. He did a full restore on an old shotgun for a preacher in town that I knew and did a good job with it as well

    Ron Cox in Greenville. He’s worked on or built at least 6 different guns for me, and I have been extremely pleased.

    I use an older gentleman in Williams. He's always been very dependable and very reasonably priced. He put a "new" original production barrel on my M1903-A3 for $200 a few years ago. He also got my paternal grandfather's Winchester model 12 back in working order, and my maternal grandfather's Lefevre 12 ga. Unfortunately, his wife is under Hospice care now. If he continues to work on guns in the future, I would not hesitate to use him again.

    Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    Ron Cox would be my go to for shotguns. I believe his son does a lot of the work now, but he learned from the best.

    Robbie Wheaton for anything pistol related.

    There's a guy in Sumter that doesnt advertise, but does great work and if it's outside his scope he will tell you. I trust him implicitly.

    I'm not even sure of the question but local gunsmith are hacks that usually do more damage than good. I've had to start doing most of my gunsmithing myself. It might take a day or two of staring at what's broken to figure out a fix and I've always been lucky enough to find parts that were just broken and needed replacing. I once took a gun to a local welder and had him weld a big lug on a gun for me then I spent some time with a dremel and a box of jeweler's files but I got it fixed.

    I get parts from Art's Gunshop and Brownells. If I ever have to get a part manufactured, I'll send it to Art's.
