Went in today with the sole purpose of seeing the red shirt my family donated to the museum. They had 1 on display but it wasn't the 1 I was looking for. I gave the lady the name of the person to whom it belonged to. She couldn't find it so I called my mom back for more information. She said it was the only Red Shirt known to have SC buttons on it. The lady at the museum called me back and said she found it, but it was under another name. It belonged to George Hector Burton, a member of the Orphan Brigade. It was given to the museum by a Thomas Jefferson Lyons Jr, who was a member of the Lost Batallion in the Forest of Arconne France. The lady went into the storage area and retrieved the Red Shirt for us to look at. The lady thought the shirt should date back to 1870ish and that my family donated it in the 1920's Really neat piece of history.
