I watched the entire 98 500 broadcast this morning
Still remember seeing the look on Schrader’s face, at that moment I realized it was very bad
Like I remember it like it was yesterday.
Worse day ever in NASCAR.
When he won the Daytona 500 finally and all the teams high fived him coming down pit road.... brings chills.

Time flies, doesn't seem like it's been that long.
Raced against him in the Rolex 24, ate supper with him and Teresa the weekend before, and was there in the pits when it happened...I retired from the racing gig the next year after the Championship run was over, it never was the same.
It truly did die along with him for me......

He's got huge balls.
Well until Amy clipped him anyway.
Only famous figure’s death that still chokes me up

Hell of a finish to this years Daytona 500
I agree. McDowell pulled a Dale and punted those two fools right the hell on outta his way.
Neat interview and the last 3 or so minutes may give some closure to true Earnhardt fans about the day. How tuff it must be and so much respect for Ken to hold all that in!
I was in college at UGA watching the race at a friends house and I will never forget when they ended the coverage of the race with the image of all the emergency vehicles still on the track and we all looked at each other like "that's not good" then one of the Frances had that press conference announcing the news.
Time does fly. It seems like yesterday it happened.

Nascar lost it's soul in pieces over a couple year span ending with Big E- he was supposed to retire and lead the way and Davey was supposed to carry the sword. Davey, Neil, Big E, Red, Adam.
One of those moments you never forget where, when and what was going on when you heard the news. Legends never die.
NASCAR lost some good ones to tragedy. Dave’s Allison, Alan Kulwicki just to name a few
