You people with your "touches", "spells", and "smidgens"...
I feel like I shouldn't be trapped by finite regulations..
Bushel of peanuts, 2.5 lbs of salt and boil for a couple hours
If you're in a hurry, pressure cooker will get them right in about 45 minutes.
Nope no hurry. Someone just brought me a half bushel and I thought I would give it a try. I usually leave this sort of thing to the pro's and stay in my lane...
Add some Dale's seasoning for added flavor. Dale's is very salty so reduce the amount of actual salt you use if you add it
Pro tip: Go to Bilo and get the 5lb cans of Peanut Patch when they are on sale and you cant make em cheap enough. No feezing large quantities cause you bought a bushel. They last several years in the can, several different flavors, and they made right here in SC and taste great!
Low country redneck who moved north
A crock pot are you shittiing me??? That is disrepctful as hell to a southern pnut. So is putting all that other bullshit in there beside salt. Some of yal' are Yanks in disguise and disgust me!

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
Five pounds of green peanuts, 5 Tbls of salt, 1 Tbls of sugar. Put them in the pressure cooker fill it enough to cover the peanuts (as much as your pressure cooker will take without spitting) and put it on the stove. Let it hiss for 45 minutes. Take it off the heat and as soon as you can open it, use a colander to hold all the peanuts under water. Let it cool until you can tolerate the water to grab a peanut, then drain. These won't be super salty like some folks seem to like.
Pressure cooker is the ticket if you have a big one.
I like to pressure cook 45 min, soak by letting the water cool enough to put my hand in it without it being hot.

Is it amount of salt to amount of peanuts? Or amount of salt to amount of water?
Well now I’m confused.

I put the peanuts in a pot with warm water, put salt in there until the water taste salty, then I boil them. Be careful letting them sit/soak. That’s when they absorb the salt and can get too salty.
And I’m with whoever said they want to eat peanuts that taste like peanuts.
