Old bay

Old Bay is good. We've also used the Zatarain's Crab Boil in a bag. I've had better luck putting 2 of 'em in a big pot.
Don't forget 2-3 lemons cut in 1/2 and squeezed in the pot. Let the halves float while it boils.
Oh, and don't overcook the shrimp.

Lemons "brighten" flavors. I also like to put a few quartered onions in mine along with some whole peppercorns and a sachet(bundle of herbs in cheesecloth, usually consisting of parsley, thyme, rosemary, and bay leaves) along with a good helping of Old Bay. Scatters is right about the vinegar. Don't forget the cocktail sauce.

HARV, if you're so inclined, you can make your own cocktail sauce easily. Might impress 'em.
Ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, celery salt, and tabasco to taste.

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm sauce. Might just stop at cock.

I'd add a shot of worchestershire, a little garlic powder, fresh cracked pepper, and some Old Bay to that cocktail sauce. I'm bout to have to go break out the pot, I'm bettin a cravin.

Ask Idlewild and Chuck the Duck Slayer about my frogmore stew. I use the Zataran's crab boil in a bag. Once I dump into a dish I sprinkle the old bay on there!! Good eatin I tell ya!! No complaints out of them boys I know that !!!!!

i like to use the little bottle of liquid crab boil and one bag. i put the crab boil bag in a short section of panty hose so that it doesnt bust and get in every damn thing! and one or 2 bottles of beer just as a nod to the beer-gods! got me cravin and stew!
Something I did on the last batch which I will do from here on out. Cook with the old bay as usual and after you dump it on the table, start scooping tablespoons of butter all over it. Then a light sprinkling of some more old bay....damn that was the deal
You can grow up to be just like me....
Just remember , when everything is completely done, then and only then, add the swimps. They only need to cook for a few minutes. I hate to see swimps boiling for 20 minutes. Just as well stick fake rubba swimps in there. Good luck and as always enjoy the beers.
easy livin'
Pink and done.Near fergot 'bout beers.
