I don't like swivels on my inshore stuff. Just me, but not a fan of hardware on my trout, flounder stuff.
The Mirrolures are as good as anything out there in that category. I have seen days that only one color will work
and then the next day, its a different color. I also think its different depending on where you fish, water color, etc.
I just know what works in my area, you will go crazy trying to figure it out.
For the price, its hard to go wrong with St Croix Mojo or 13 Fishing Omen or Fate rods. My 13 Fishing rods actually have the better action.

Not to hammer this out any longer than need be but -
If I targeting redfish, they range in size dramatically. Why would I not use a specific size reel for a specific fish, instead y’all say to use the specific size tee for what bait I use. Say I use a medium rod with 3000 reel and a small artificial lure, but I hook up on a monster late season bull red. Will it handle it ? Or say I want to use live bait and I use the medium heavy rod with 5000 reel but I’m targeting something small like flounder, isn’t that too much of a rod for most flounder ?
Lol you and me both! All my rods are junk but catch fish. My oldest boy just turned six and was thinking about getting him a nice bait cast setup, but I thought about it and changed my mind because the little bastard left my St croix casting rod with a lews reel on it out in the yard and my damn beagle chewed the cork off it!

I’ve had good results with the Penn battle combos
I kinda like my long red one. The shorter one with a pistol grip is pretty good for flipping grubs. And the other one that works pretty good for freshwater bass fishing, too. I think at least one of them is a a Shakespeare.
I have seen both these rods in person, both are actually about the same price. Any suggestions on which is better for a 7' inshore setup ?
Star Aerial Spinning Inshore or 13Fishing Fate Green
My vote for star but I have no experience with the other.
I went with :
7' Medium 8-15lb with 3000 reel
7' Med Heavy 12-20lb with 4000 reel
What do you recommend for line sizes ?
I was thinking 15lb braid for the Medium with 20lb flouro leader, then 20lb braid on the second with 20lb leader ? Or do I just leave them both 15lb and call it a day.
