It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.
Any spin feeders I have are set one hour after sunrise only. I do not like making deer more nocturnal by spinning again before dark.
I only hunt on days that end in "y"!
Has anyone ever killed a large mountable buck under a feeder?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
We always hung ours from cables in the trees, big bucks killed under them. Then we would try a tripod and no luck. So nobody thought deer would eat under a tripod. New guy joined club and wanted to use a tripod feeder, "we" told him that they won't work, this ain't Texas. Well he had pictures within the week of a big buck eating around his tripod. From the coast to the mountains, tripod feeders, feeders hanging from cables, gravity feeders, ground feeders, etc will work. I've seen Corn land on doe backs waiting to eat. Corn=Doe=Bucks

Mine go off at 8:00 right now. I would consider this a mature buck, and he is consistently there 30 minutes after. I just cut the feeder back on a week ago, and he has been there every day since the day I filled it. The feeder has been there over a year, but has not been running since November.

I’ve always ran 30min before official sunrise and an hour before official sunset.
Charlie Horse and I have 11 feeders that we run 8 months a year. They have been there for a lot of years. The deer dont mind them at all. I feed for 5 seconds at 8am and 7pm until the time changes. I have hours of Arlo video of really good mature bucks feeding under them.

I always see the bigger bucks on the feeder hanging up in the tree
in texas we had ours rigged to a door bell switch in the.blind. you mash to set off feeder. deer came 5 minutes later. not my prefered style to hunt. oak tree in creek bottom near the thick stuff
If it goes off before sunrise, how early do you plan to get there? I like to be settled in the stand before the feeder goes off. I hate walking in and running a bunch of deer off the feeder.
Deer at my place are pretty acclimated to feeders and don't run off when the feeders go off. They don't usually get there too early either. Some wait within earshot and come in as soon as they hear the dinner bell. I won't be surprised when I kill one wearing a wrist watch.
I killed my best racked deer under a feeder. My biggest bodied deer was running behind a doe.
Climbing ladder and settling into stand as feeder goes off has worked for me when I was running late.
