Bees are assholes. But I'm glad we have them.
Negative. There are numerous hives on the property and have been for years. Numbers are strong and will jack those moths up. Just put a gallon of sugar syrup out so they have plenty of food. I’ll take some honey out at the end of July but they will backfill with goldenrod for the fall/winter.

That’s some nice looking brood. Don’t underestimate those beetles or wax moths, both will make you look stupid in a hurry.

Moths aren't a problem unless you have empty frames or a killed out hive. Varroa mites should be your biggest concern, pest wise.
Preach on WNM!
If you're feeding sugar syrup that's what you will get out of the comb at the end of July. You really need to raise the hive higher up off the ground. After a couple of visits from a skunk harassing your bees, they will take their anger out on you or anything else that passes close by.

The sourwood bloom is looking good for the mountain folks this month. I wouldn't mind moving some hives up there to get some of that honey but JAB would have to tie a Dachshund nearby to fight off the bears.

Are you still beekeeping Bobby?
If so how are they doing and did you get any honey?
