I know what it is gah dang it. Across the Savannah River, we call them a bunch of different names, including Chain Pickerel. I have caught hundreds of them, in black water rivers in SGA and as far north as the Chattahoochee river below Morgan Falls dam near Atlanta- which is a great trout fishery FWIW.. Any of them caught in a pond over here end up thrown on the bank for the Cormorants to eat.
