We have used them dryer sheets and they work fairly well. You have to go back every week and spray perfume (the nastier the better) for as long as you want to keep them off. As soon as you quit they will be in there. Does a good job of keeping hogs out also.
It works, just don't let them get old. Put the string about 3 ft. high with a dryer sheet about every 10 ft. I posted this under "Public Service Announcement".

If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.
Thanks Guys
Get someone that works at a beauty salon to collect the hair clippings from the week.
spread it around the perimeter of the food plot. Works like a charm, and ITS FREE.
you will need to refresh the hair every now and then.
I put it in my garden and haven't had any problems since.
A vote is like a rifle: its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.

Do you hunt deer? ...ever?
Somewhat. However, it's the best trick in the book, followed closely by dryer sheets, cheap underarm deodorant or cheap cologne for that matter, not to mention old t-shirts (unwashed) cut into strips and hung from the string.
Lets say you are in a fishing tournament next weekend- The bait you have now is all you are gonna have for the next 3 weeks-- How you gonna catch fish next week if you use all your bait this week?
I got a fella telling me he will be using his 3 daughters and wifes used tampons as an attractant-- I told him to have fun with that, and dont tell nobody and that if he needed extra check the local truckstop.............Hey girls, bring those daddy!! bwhahahaha all this for a wood goat

Turd, I hope your joking.
I have heard of people doing that, I just won't be one of them.
I tried dryer sheets. It rained the same day and the deer were back in two days.
Scare crows work better for me.
Dryer sheets also work if you have a problem with piss ants in a room. Seems like we get invaded every 3 or 4 years here at the house.
