After a heated argument on where he should sit, Daddy told me to shut my mouth and that he was going to plow until 5 then slip into a stand on the farm.. So I left with an attitude and went got
In the tree I wanted Daddy to sit in.. Been some good deer moving around it and Robbie went to another jam up stand 500yds away.. I knew one of us were going to kill..
Here comes 5:25 and I look down the lane and there’s a yellow bush that I hadn’t noticed before, it moved...
Holy crap, that’s a rack of horns behind a doe, he stops and goes to bug out and I punched him behind the shoulder.. Scope drills me and he disappeared..
Congrats texts from everyone “I’m sure he’s dead right there” yada yada..
I found good blood..
Bob texts, “Got him”..
I’ll be, Daddy killed one on the farm, probably a basket racked something or other..
I lose my blood in the water and start to circle and pray for God to lead me, lead me.. 25 more yds and I walk right into much better blood, spraying on trees, and bam, there he is.. When I saw him, I had instant regret.. This is the deer I was sending Daddy after and he wouldn’t come and sit, nows he killed some trash horn scrub on the farm then this pic comes through..

Hammer buck down!!!
Then I start thinking, well crap, I thought I had killed a stud, I mean a 19 1/2” bruiser 7, that scared every deer off the corn pile, that he was ever in a picture with..
Hahaha, he looks like a scrub now!
Anyhow, 66 1/2 years and Bob has never killed a 10pt, until 11/11/18.. Inhave never seen him that excited about any deer. The stone cold killer was smiling!! Maybe there is hope for his oldest son as well..
Anyhow again, I’m happy, Robbie’s happy, Bob The Father is estatic!!
Moral of the story, shut your mouth and listen to your father, no matter how smart you think you are!!!
