Got a trailer that has the plug missing. Has 2 combined strands that have 3 individual strands each. One strand has a green white and black wire, the other has a yellow, brown and white wire. What type of plug do I need and how do I wire it up?

You need the same type of plug your truck has. Elsewise you ain't gettin nowhere. Electric brakes? Break-away/battery?
If neither of those, you just need a 4-pin and figure out which of those wires go nowhere. In that case Id suggest ripping it all out and starting over.

Some good reference material here, has helped me in the past.
Volt meter and a buddy in the truck to mash brakes, turn on lights, flip turn signals........you can figure it out from there.
Good call
Aint got no buddies, and those A2Z shout outs are getting old or I would drop it off and kick rocks

When you buy the replacement plug, it should have the same colors for wires. Butt splice, solder and heat shrink, or just tape up. It should be like new, 5 minutes tops repair
It was like 10, and I was in my boxers, in the back yard. You should see the outtakes

Post a pic of where it plugs in your truck
Jesus.....
My goodness. Visor Dude...don't let the 5th (white wire fool you). It's just a ground. Go get the 4 flat connector and wire it up. If you have a 7 pin on your truck you buy an adapter
Usually...white is ground and connected right near the trailer tongue. Brown is "parking" lights on both sides. Green is right brake/turn light and yellow is left brake/turn light.
But, do yourself a big favor...re-wire the whole thing with new LED trailer lights...

I’d like to re-wire it but there are 2 tail lights and 4 small side marker lights. That would take at least 10 pages
