Is it possible to grow peach trees from a seed, or is it just better to buy them. Thinking of putting a few at the club but not sure what type to get, or where to get them. I would like something that bares fruit pretty fast. Any thoughts?

peaches are like most fruit trees, grafted from good stock onto a not so great root, planting seed from said peaches will revert back to the original root stock type and not what was added on. the tree will grow and produce fruit but will be small and inferior
if your just planting them to attract wildlife, I think you'll be ok. doubt something is going to walk by and say, "i'm not eating that crap! did you get a good look at those roots?"

From a peach seed, chances are slim the tree will make it to maturity.
Planting an 18" seedling with a protector around the tree and giving minimal care will increase the odds of survival. Even then you are 3-4 years before the tree will fruit. You will need to find a self pollinating variety.
Good Luck.
