    Default Central Texas

Went on a last minute trip this weekend with couple Army buddies that live out in Texas now. Between 4 of us we shot 37 Birds and recovered 32 in 2 days, the weather wasn't the best and we didn't limit out, but we had a blast. By far the best OOS hunting I have had. And since I can only seem to find Woodducks, Teal and Ringnecks in SC it makes it even sweeter. I had a few firsts for me, a Drake Gadwall, Drake Widgeon and surprisingly a Drake Mallard! I just wish that Stud Pintail was mine.

Fine hunts indeed. That's more than just a run of the mill Gadwall, as well. Congrats, and thanks for your service.

I have killed a good many gadwall and have never killed one with a neck "ring". That's really cool!

    Congrats on a great hunt.

Thanks for the grammar check sweetheart. I will be sure to tell my wife (the English Teacher) I have been corrected once again. I am sure she will get a kick out of it.

Most people don't know how cool it is to travel somewhere and pursue game. Some people never get the opportunity to do it, and some people have done it so often that they become immune to the nuances of the different scenery and habits. I am glad you enjoyed your trip, and were able to harvest game in the process.

Kill what you can as often as you can wherever you can.
