    Default Uncooked ham

Everything seems to point toward a pre cooked ham to put on the smoker but that's lazy. I've got an 11lb uncooked I want to smoke. Somebody give me the run down. Glaze or not? Foil or not? Inject or not? And go........

You got to cure it first or you will end up with bbq. Get some morton tender quick and cure it first then smoke / glaze and such.

You need to cure it, glaze is just some sugar and shit mixed up on the outside.

You can get tender quick at sportsmans warehouse, follow the directions on the package. It will take a few weeks to cure.

Been there and struggled with the same thing. Or just smoke a turkey.

Give me the run down on a pre cooked one? Let it get to 140° internal and call it good.

To be honest I don't remember the details. I did it a few years ago. But yes I cooked it to the suggested temp (prob 140) and put some sugar glaze on it to make it feel like I was doing more than cooking it in oven. It wasn't bad and was better than the oven but I felt dirty since it was precooked.

But that's mainly a personal thing and most people will think it's great that you smoked a ham.
