I'm headed up above Brevard in the morning to fish with a guide buddy. He just called and said to wear two layers of long johns and to bring the gloves unless I want to freeze. Any of y'all go this weekend?

He says the "fair weather fishermen" were out hard and slinging a plethra of flies at em. He was on some smaller fish early with a prince and a soft hackle dropper, he ended up with the smallest little white scud he had, he did notice a small midge hatch in the midst of the 55 degree day, so I am assuming it was a small midge pupa of some type.

For all intensive purposes, the hot flies this spring are green with flash and gray with a goldenrod egg sack. (some Dookie designs and some Ben-ho designs)

Anyone else been doing any fishing? I hope to go this weekend, but hot turkeys may change my mind come thursday.

We caught so many fish on Monday I'm not telling you the number. It was around 30 degrees when we stepped into the river at 8:00am. I have a picture of a nice fat rainbow I caught if anyone can help me post it.

Dookie- your boy landed a couple big ones it looks like. Impressive. We caught two others as big as mine in the pic that day. I caught a brown that looked like a football. We caught a few of the big stocker brookie's, but mostly rainbows. Throw whatever looks like nothing everyone else is throwing. We were fishing an attractor chamois pattern. Deadly.

Yeah, the turkeys have me hemmed up since the weather hasn't been great, I really want to go this weekend, maybe sunday, if I kill something Saturday.
