They say Sesbania seeds last for up to 7 years for germination.

IMHO, 50 years is a better estimate for Sesbania or sicklepod.

It's been dry for a few weeks, so we've been able to start taking down corn stalks with the bushhog. Having to stop periodically to move out some logs and large limbs that washed / floated in with the "thousand-year rain event" in October.

Unfortunately the soil has a lot of clay to it and goes from too wet to set up like a brick and cracked in about 3 days so the planting window is usually small.

The pond was not planted for several years till we started with it in 2013. The problem has gotten worse every year. we have been dialing, a pass with an offset disk followed by a leveling harrow. I have thought about trying a turnover plow as guys in Georgia have been having good success burying pigweed beneath the germination zone. We always use two passes of residual herbicide but obviously it doesn't hold long enough. Shoot me a note on what has worked for you Strick.

Bury the seed more than 6" and make it unfeasible for germination and emergence to occur.
