selling hides

anyone know the market value around here, per foot? and are there any processors that buy them? thanks

I know it roughly $30 a foot for big gators 10+ in great condition. It can be significantly lower for hides with imperfections. Not to sure about selling them with the rec tags. I know the property I help manage gets 50 private land tags a year and we sell all the hides to a company out of Tennessee.

thanks LD. I assume CITES might be needed for out of state.

You're correct. You need the CITES tag to sell out of state. Get in touch with your regional DNR office and they should put you in contact with a biologist that will issue the tag.
