We use to kill a few mallards back 10+ years ago between packs and sparkleberry That were banded with RED rings around there legs The first one I killed I thought it had somehow got a small keychain stuck on it's leg but I learned shortly after that it was placed there. The game warden told me the name of the club that was banding them but it slipped my mind. I ask because I have stumbled across those bands and I wanted to know if they were released birds?

Yeah they are released, i have 2 of those bands.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
