I almost finished Sunrise on Santee last weekend at the beach. Pretty good read about the swamp, and also the low county. A lot of info on the history of Santee Cooper lakes.

Love reading Gene Hill's work. Most people are missing out.

My favorite Hill short story from the book " A Listening Walk" is probably "Dog hair in your drink".

Every dog owner can relate. "Whoever said you can't buy happiness, forgot about puppies"

Another great outdoor writer- mostly writes about Upland bird, quail and Brittanies is Ben O. Williams.

Specifically - "Winston" and "Hunting the Quails of N. America"

    Great stuff.

Another couple of great reads, although difficult to find are Dr. Wayne Capooth's "Red Letter Days" he also wrote " The Golden Age of Waterfowling" both are worthy additions to one's book collection..

One of my sentimental favorites is "Nash Buckingham, Beaver Dam and other Hunting tales" by Dr. William "Chubby" Andrews.
