    Default duck call value

I have a rnt short barrel that I never use. the call is bois d arc wood. I have a person that is wanting to buy it but from what I understand you cant get calls made out of that wood anymore and was wondering if this makes the call worth more? The call is like brand new with the box ,bag and extra reeds. I am not trying to sell the call on here as I have a buyer lined up . I am trying to come up with a fair price

You can still buy wood calls. If it's in good shape its worth 60 bucks

You can send them a piece of hedge and they will still turn calls from it. They took that wood from the lineup because they couldn't find a supplier to fill the large orders they make. Call is worth $60 if it's in great condition

Bois d arc (Wood of the Bow) aka OSAGE ORANGE aka HORSE APPLE aka HEDGE APPLE aka YELLOW WOOD is in the mulberry family and isn't rare. It's plentiful in OK, Texas, Louisiana and Missouri. It's a native tree to America. We even have some around here that was originally transplanted from Missouri. I'm sure they'd make one if you asked them.

I have heard that cocabolo is getting hard to get

Mergie, cocobolo can still be had. People misunderstood the report and the scare started raising the price.

Thanks. I'd just heard from a custom maker that he may not be able to get any soon.

Is it by some slim chance a full scroll version?

Are short barrels with full and half scrolls worth that much? I know the Daisy Cutters can get to some ridiculous prices for the older ones, along with stickered originals, micarta calls, etc.

Just curious, never looked too hard at the short barrels.

There was never a scrolled short barrel put into production. The valuable short barrels are stickered.

The Old School Daisy Cutters (OSDC) are what can bring big money. They offered them in a pre-scroll, half-scroll, and full scroll. The hot color for the OSDCs is red right now. Anywhere from $700-1000.

I knew those brought in some money. I have an old RNT stickered original and a Beebe stamped Echo that are worth a little bit, along with about 50 other calls from various companies. Can't bring myself to spend the money they want for the OSDC.

I agree man. I've bought a few buy not the big money ones. Also have a few that I got brand new from the shop years ago but that was before they got popular.
