Our new addition to the family. This is my first lab. He is 6 weeks old today. Going to be an experience I can see that already! Any quick advice on things to help along the way?

Don't rush training, short sessions daily, bird wings on a fishing pole, crate him at night until trained, join a local hunting retriever club, buy the Duck Dogs Basics DVD.
I used a BB gun for early training and play sessions, intro to gun fire was a breeze after that.
Have fun! Good looking lab!
Read everything you can, the more you learn the better off both of you will be. Obedience will be your first concern when the pup gets older, but not now, just let him be a pup and have fun.
Duck Dog Basics is a good video, Freddy King has some good ones on YouTube and of course Costa is our very own go to expert.
Keep things fun for you and pup. A heavy hand is not anywhere in yours or pups near future.
Again, learn all you can right now, then be ready to implement down the road.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
For now, just keep it simple. Down the road when you're ready for FF, dig up LabluvR's "How to" video.
Cherokee Foothills Hunting Retriever Club is located in the upstate and use training grounds in Clinton and Piedmont . They meet every month and put together hunt test and hunting set ups to aid training your dog. Just last weekend they had a mock style dove hunt where 3 hunters sat on buckets and took turns in retrieving 6 different marks and 4 blind retrieves. It was a great event that helped the hunter and the hunt test folks . Shoot me a message if you would like to come check us out , you are welcome to come watch .

purty pup.....love me some puppy breath
You can grow up to be just like me....
You need to get him to Pine Street Animal Hospital as soon as possible. He looks wormy and Glenn needs a new deer rifle or shotgun for the upcoming season.
HuntinCosta can fix all his obedience issues so when you leave PSAH head to Hartsville and get him enrolled.
ETA: Nice looking pup.
