I second the cajun line
I second the cajun line
80lb. power pro with a 50lb. leader for cats in tree laps. 12 to 15lb.berkley big game for rockfish. If the drag is set right you can bring them to the boat. I fish the PeeDee River.
I've been using Izorline for the past year or so. If your going with mono I'd try it.
Once I switched to braid, I realized I'd never go back to mono. No loop memory, no stretch so you can feel everything and set the hook with 100 yards of line out, thinner so it drags less in current. If you get a rat's nest from "professional over run" on a baitcaster, you can usually pull it out even if you can't see the small line well enough to manually untangle it. There is a little bit of learning curve but it's worth the effort. Don't try to hold it in your unprotected hand to break it off because it will cut the crap out of you.
I use a double uni with 7 wraps in the flouro side and five on the braid side to tie on a flouro leader.
Suffix braid with a Floro leader attached using an Albright or Crazy Alberto Knie knot.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013
You better put that braid on as tight as you can. One hang up on the reel with a weight that big and it'll jerk your rod out of your hand.
Braid is so sensitive, you can feel one just swimming by, thinking about biting your bait.
yeah, no doubt I'd use braid but like I said, put it on there tight as possible. I mean, get a pair of gloves and hold the line so it doesn't burn your fingers...tight.
