I always laugh when I hear about all the 300-400 lb boars people have killed.....but they didn't actually weigh them.

I can generally guess deer within 10 lbs... hogs, psssh. The former deer contest showed me how bad I was. I do know how to make them gain weight in 160 grain increments tho
When their neck disappears and they resemble a box..
They weigh 300

I have weighted most of mine just to try to be able to judge them and some still throw me. A pregnant sow will get you every time. Only killed one over 300 and he was 310-15. Most range from 150-250. Now I don't even weigh I just bury and move on.

You ever see a damn Mississippi Delta boar that was grown. I was out there deer hunting a few years ago and shot one. I guessed it was in the 200-250 range. My BIL who lives there thought it was heavier. It took three of us to put in on the truck. When we got it to the scales it was 310. Both cutters broke off right above the gums, and teeth missing. Old boy had been around a while.
Bill no every hog I have killed was in Chester county. I don't and would not travel to kill one. Like I said I started out weighing them for reference cause I was always thinking they weighed more than they did but after killing so many and still having more and more I just shoot them now and if they die in food plot, bait site or trap site I drag to field otherwise just let buzzards eat them cause the coyotes don't seem to even like them!! I don't care what they weigh anymore just trying to win the war.

People suck at counting ducks too.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
