    Default Planting wheat in January?

Anybody on here ever try to plant wheat as late as the middle of January? Can you make a crop planting this late?

I doubt you could make a crop as you are way behind the planting date and soil temperature is probably to low to get the necessary growth needed.

Agreed. I've seen Dec 20 make, but didn't set any records. I'd venture to say soil temp (night time) has dropped WAY to far down to germinate. It'll swell and rot out.

Not real sure of the Pee Dee but we have had close to 10 nights in the mid 20s and that drags that soil temp down. Last winter you probably would have been ok.
