Apparently it was poaching if you were to cut in to Fork Swamp from the boat-sized gap on the Wateree side, just up from the point.
I learned this years later from scducks.com
A lot of folks from St. Matthews and Fort Motte killed their first black ducks in there.
A mighty sizeable shellcracker bed could be found in there years back as well.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
