Another vote for the 10-22, bought mine at Academy 2 years ago for $189 wood stock model. Rides in the truck with me everywhere I go.

I have run into a few problems with one of mine. Granted, I only own one, but it's given me some issues. Dunno if it might be a dud or what.

The Appleseed shooting course recommends 10/22's.

10-22, got an international model that I love. If you can find an older model in good shape they've a better trigger group than the new ones. Metal vs plastic.

After reading up on the Marlin 795, that's what I purchased. The 10/22 sounds like a better gun if you want to modify it. Plenty of people/forums say that the 795 shoots better out the box. With a 25.00 coupon and 30.00 earned bucks coupon, less than 80.00 out the door from Dicks.

Just bought a new toy for myself. A mosberrg 22 automatic from Mack's it was $199.00 and I think now it is on sale. It looks like an AR, if that's something your looking for and is more fun to shoot. Not to mention more economical. I'm not sure if they ship but I'm sure a call to the gun dept. will get you your answer. Or find someone coming down for the second split and let them pick it up for you.
