Will, media is right. The river was already flooded and kept getting higher the more it rained on us.The guard rail is actually near the begining of the main highway. The boat ramp usually starts at the clump of trees in the pic. Good thing though, if you could find a dry spot of ground you could find the hogs.

i was raised in south GA. Killed hogs on the river(Oconee) in high school on the flood islands. our hogs are black as hell. what county is this?

It was houston pronounced (house-ton) near robins air base.
Not sure why all your hogs are black but all the areas I've hunted Ga and SC they have been a mix.
Black,Red, blond, blond with black spots even red with black spots.

I hunt Laurens and Johnson no hogs in johnson on my place. the hogs are black because a man bought four double decker trailers full and turned them loose about 20 years ago. now a lot of people hate him for it, and some love him for it. hell a greens keeper shot a four hundred pounder at Riverview golf course in Dublin Ga, shot his ass from a mower on #13. when the river floods we use to find a pile of them on an island and cut em all. houston is right up the road.

I don't get to hunt the area like I used to and my buddy recently retired from the air force so it looks like maybe not at all anymore. That part of the ocmulgee has a lot and some big hogs.
