Is John Michael the one who is supposed to attempt to shoot a full course of skeet in less than one minute FROM HIS HIP?

I have no idea, but I wouldn't put it past him.

I wonder what all the lead does to the ground?

Some clays clubs have shot periodically "harvested". Where possible, a thin layer of soil is scraped up and the pellets are sifted out. The lead is valuable enough that it doesn't cost the club and sometimes brings them a profit.

Led pellets are in a fairly stable state. They don't leach into and through the soil like you might imagine.

I've seen John Michael shoot skeet from the hip in under a minute. If I remember, he shot a 22 doing that.

Not to worry about the lead. Its inert and many clubs to reclaim it after a period of time to make a little money. After all, it came from the ground.

After the first day Fish is sitting on a 62 out of 66 and is in the hunt. I'm at 59. Had one bad station. Great targets and everything is running smoothly.

Fish put up a 55/66 and I put up another 59/66. One more day left. Shot this crazy quail thing today. 4 trap machines pointed in all directions that spin in circles. 40 targets in about 2 minutes. We got it on video. I'll see if I can put it up on youtube.

What a great event. Fish and I both finished on 173/200. Got a little rain during our rotation yesterday. Enjoyed every minute of it and got a try out some new shells that Just hit our shores called RC Shells.

Congrats guys. That's pretty good shooting. I saw a video of the crazy quail that someone posted on facebook. That looked like a ton of fun.

Good job to both of you. What was the winning score?
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Wendell Cherry kicked ass with a 193. The next best score was a 188 and the scores went down from there. I didn't count but I'm guessing we finished about 25th or so. There were almost 300 master class shooters alone. Total attendance with over 1100 shooters for all classes.

I'll say this, although we could have done better had we been shooting better but all in all we did pretty fair. Many of the shooters in the top 20 are professional shooters/instructors. We are just a couple weekend warriors.

The regionals are in 3 weeks at Rocky Creek. Guess we need to start getting ready for that now.

Not hardly. These were not your typical local fluff targets. With it being the US Open they had 3 different target setters from across the country setting some tough targets.

Got a picture sent to me today of the $220,000 shotgun that was out there for sale. Beautiful gun, but not for me..
