All I know is it's easier to loose those Mach2 shells than the HMRs.

Pussys. There were still varmints afield long after the sun came up.
I can't remember what was decided but I know I gotta have one of them and soon.
The near zero drop of the .17COT was awful nice.
Speedwise is the TNT comparable?
Which manufacturer produced the .17COT and .17TNT, respectively?
"The real reason fish jump - they don't have a middle finger!"
The COT was in a Savage but I forgot, or never knew, what the TNT was in...
I'm thinking they were both Savage. Cot/Wood-stocked Tnt/Synthetic.
The 17Cot was death on a biscuit. Never shot the 17Gert.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
Which of these loads is superior on Communists out to 300 yards?
Depends on which you're shooting at the time.
Here's an article I forwarded to Nutz after our weekend discussion of the differences between the 22Mag. and the .17HMR in terms of ballistics.
Damn Good Info
Nutz, OSD21 and I had a hell of a discussion of the matter going Fri night......then the sun came up and we went to bed...
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
Here's something I found on a quick search:
17TnT:
Range: Muzz 50y 100y 150y 200y
Velocity (fps) 2100 1799 1530 1304 1134
Energy (ft-lbs) 166 122 88 64 49
Trajectory (Inches) -1.3 0.7 0.0 -4.4 -14.0
17Cot:
Range: Muzz 50y 100y 150y 200y
Velocity (fps) 2550 2212 1902 1621 1380
Energy (ft-lbs) 245 185 136 99 72
Trajectory (Inches) -1.3 0.1 0.0 -2.6 -8.0
The HMR is flatter and has more wack power at extended range, so if you want to shoot rabbits/ground birds out to 100 yards the 17 mach 2 will do fine. However if you want to go to 150-200 yards go for the HMR. Also if you want to take foxes (sub 80 yards) go with the HMR (your flo will probably see it this way to).
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
With any of them past 50yards, you have to have little wind - the light bullet, even starting fast, will get affected by even a light breeze.
I know the HMR is a bad little round.
I always thought a website was a selling tool, not a product repair manual!
