Heard of people doing it, read that some people do it, and decided to paint a couple old decoys flat black just to see what happens tomorrow morning....
Anyone tried it?

Why would you need to paint decoys. Just paint some 2 liter coke bottles.
I was gonna say what Esso said. I've seen entire spreads of empty black 2 liters. I assume they were painted but not really sure. I didn't see 'em up close.
If you're hunting on a budget this is the ticket.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

If you fly over ducks, they look like they are black regardless of the species.

He shoots a Mossberg, really does it matter. I hope you don't post up kill pics with that disgusting weapon.
exactly. people believe coot decoys are magic because they are coot decoys. they are magic because they are black.
black shows up alot further away over the water than white. back off your spread a few hundred yards and see what you first notice. It aint the sprigs.
painting a couple=no difference
