Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

I've never worried about a 1,100 pound tiger shark while duck hunting.

Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
This thread is sic rad to the 10th degree!
I've never really understood why people in South Carolina tried to surf on 2 ft waves. Seems like a lot of effort for not much reward. Then again, I never understood what appealed to the slingheads about constantly having broken limbs due to skateboarding on homemade half pipes.....
South Carolina not having waves is a pretty common misconception among folks that don't surf. Fact of the matter is, we get pretty decent swell about 6 months out of the year. It just usually goes down outside the normal vacation months, so the "one week at the beach per year" crowd doesn't see it. March-May usually produces chest high glass about 2 dozen times. August-October we get very consistent tropical swells that can push overhead sets for days at a time. Ask somebody that lives at the beach year round, how often the surf kicks up.....remember, just because its flat the few days a year you drive down to make sand castles, doesn't mean there's no surf here.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Where's your face?
And by the way I can surf.. Not very graceful, but I used to. And I've owned many skateboards, I quit by the time those people came out with those tiny wheels. Plus if I wasn't getting older now, and was slap afraid off falling. I could do about anything behind a rope.. You get turn 35 and see how much being thrown off a tube, or not completing your first 360 on a kneeboard in ten years feels like.
