Did Insanity and it is alot of Cardio. I had to supplement three weights lifting days a week bc I was loosing muscle tone because it was so much cardio. So if you are already doing weights and want to incorporate insanity you should be fine. Just drank the Crossfit kool aid and I am hooked.

i tried Insanity for a while. As stated, it was basically all cardio.

I have done p90x several times and like it. I dont understand what people have been saying about supplementing weights in with P90X on Mon, Wed, Friday. I go to the Y and use the dumbells to do the lifting days. I have I have it loaded on my ipod, but dont really listen to it.

I am going to try the cross fit cult thing for a month.

then I will probably look into P90X2

but any program is better than sitting on the couch smoking cigarettes.

    Good for you!
    Go get after it.

I've been doing weights three days a week with 30 min of cardio. On tues & thurs I do kickboxing for an hour. I've lost almost 30lbs since Jan. I've mixed in some CF & tried Insannity. Best results for me have come from weights & cardio. I like doing the cross fit to "shock" my body but I can't/won't do it long term.

It all works, guys. There's no secret to it. You have to get the fuck off the couch and burn the calories. Not eating bullshit helps speed the process.

i agree with SOME of that.
the calorie in/calorie out debate still rages. Sugars and insulin spikes make people fat. Not necessarily increased calories. if we are talking about weight loss, well...its a different beast.

I totally agree with the exercise portion to be HEALTHY. eat fresh foods made close to home. cut out sugars. limit white starches. and MOVE.

ok...i will stay out of the grok forum now...

Well I say I won't. I feel more prone to injury for one reason. I also feel like I'm cramming a hour & a half workout into 30 minutes. I like it short term but it seems I start to lose muscle mass after a couple of weeks. Don't know how other than maybe I don't take in enough protein.
