On the way home from work yesterday afternoon I noticed a big fat hen fly up from the edge of the road and land on a big pine limb about a 100 yards in front of the car. I'm thinking it's weird to see a hen land on a limb hanging over the road but figured an old gobbler was trailing her.

I took a look at the side of the road where she got up and there was a big coyote standing right where she got up from. He was looking up at the hen landing in the tree. The coyote was about the size of a grown lab, maybe 50 to 60 pounds, splotchy brown, and ugly as hell. The coyote turned and ran back into the woods just as I passed. So much for being unarmed at the time. That sure would have made for a great picture though.
