A fence. Around eleven to twelve acres worth of electric, two strands for now. Talk to me.

Come to the house and get some 6x6's for the corner posts, tall t-posts, some high tensil wire, a big, nasty charger, front end loader, and Shorty.
Go 8' and use more than 2 strands.
Yep, aggravating bastards. I tried the two strand behind the house, and it was a waste of time and money. They still mowed down 2 acres of the prettiest flowers i've ever grown back there. I put it up as soon as planted, and only took it down get the tractor in to spray. Went to the beach, came back to a dead battery, and about 1/2 an acre of stalks, after that they literally tore down the fence to get back in there. Tried Poconite around the perimeter, and any thing else i could think of. They ate them out in about 3 weeks.
Can you run a DC charger from the cabin? You can get a much better charger for a lot less than the equivalent AC. Now that they've found the Salad Bar, it will be a battle to keep them off it. They will do their best to eat you out of house and home. Its about this time every year, I want to kill every deer in Kershaw and Lee Counties. Then I remember how good they are to chew on.
It might not be a bad idea to run a hog fence with high tensil electric over the top for those years when the pigs show out as well. That would not be cheap, but would probably be a better long-term solution. If not, run strands up to around 8' or so, probably 18" apart.
You need stout corner posts to stretch against, and can drive the T-post with a front end loader or a pile-driver. I'll donate the wire I have to the cause, but you're going to need a heap of it.
We've lost all of our free use of equipment. Where have you purchased the wire and t-posts around here?
Tractor Supply or Mane Street, but you'd probably be better to check with Ag Supply in Florence. You are welcome to use my tractor. I have to pick up my trailer in a bit and have to do some mowing at the farm over the weekend, but will deliver and help if you need me.
you need the staggered fence, 2 strand, easy and cheap'ish. one strand 2 ft or so off the ground, next strand 3 feet in and 3.5 ft high....they will not jump it.
Do it right the first time and it will work longer. Two strands will not work for long.

I have a charger y'all can borrow if you want to go to the farm and fetch it.
just shoot all the birds down INSIDE that pen...
Tell me more about this'n G. You could use the temp stakes for that. Do it work?
does it work? hell yes it works. and yes you take it down come shootin time. put it away until next growing season.
even if you dont take it down, you can easily hunt around and thru it. not like those pens i see others use.
high tensil wire, needs to be hot...obviously. first strand is 2 feet off the ground. next strand is about 3 feet or so inside first, but 3.5-4 feet off ground.
staggered step. screws the deer up. i have seen the reults and we are putting another up in ft motte now.
What are you using to carry the wire - Corners, line posts? You just rig a 3' jumper?
