JAB,
Saw three in the plowed up area under the power lines the other day when I was heading to Charlotte. They looked to be just passing through since that area doesnt look planted yet.

It looks like you should be able to get a few in the trap at a time. Have you caught multiple pigs at once?
put corn in.
wait for hogs.
trap hogs.
kill hogs.
eat hogs.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Chuck, they were in Duckman's watermillion patch. They are going to get the chop. Thanks for the heads up.
We have caught 9 in one trap so far.
Glenn is pretty spot on. A bucket of corn and a trap. And beer.
Jab thanks for sharing this. New method WILL be tried. Pigs on other side of road from you have been tough to catch door falling on their backs etc.
No deer or turkeys. They won't root under the doors like a hog. I have caught plenty of deer in the old traps we used in the past that had a trap door.
No need to prebait. Just make a line of corn out the door and they will follow it in. The doors are always down which is why they are so superior to the old style you had to "set".
Just make sure the traps are out of the sun or the hogs will suffer.
We shoot them in the trap with a .22, blood doesn't effect them at all. We have caught and killed hogs 16 days in a row in one trap.
These traps are very portable and easy to move to a new trail or area. We will be moving all of them into the swamp once the corn goes to mutton and trying some trap lures/baits to draw them in because you won't catch dick in the fields at that point.
I have a guy who is scalding hogs for us now. You can't buy a better eating hog anywhere...
My phone must be broken.... I have plenty of bullets to dispatch those hogs.
Jab I have thought about cutting my door so it would have three hinged doors just like that, but I wondered how it would hold up the a big hog raming it. So I left it one solid piece.
What size are those hogs in the pictures? 80 lbs or so? Looks like you have 7 in that one trap, was that from over night or are you leaving them for a few days then checking?
I like the idea of the easy and portablness of that trap. I might have to look in to them. I have one with a giliten style door, but I don't like using it cause it seems to only catch one maybe two at a time and educate the others outside that can't get it. Might conver to a door like yours.

We have trapped 170 since close of deer season...
Jab!!! said "I have a guy who is scalding hogs for us now. You can't buy a better eating hog anywhere..." You selling them? That is some good eatin!

Dang! Y'all are catching an ass of hogs!!
I know you wish you didn't have any, but since you do I bet it's fun catching them suckers.
Sorta like what my daddy said about the Jock Itch. He said he hated it when he had it, but once he got shed of it he sure did miss that good feeling he got when he scratched it.![]()

"I here repeat, & would willingly proclaim, my unmitigated hatred to Yankee rule—to all political, social and business connections with Yankees, & to the perfidious, malignant, & vile Yankee race."
We have put 132 hogs to their deaths in the last 24 days with trap, gun, Snoop, and knife. I am thinking about introducing a sword that hasn't drawn blood since 1865 into the mix.
The US Military really ought to issue me a C130. I will bomb the Taliban's ass into submission with dead hogs. When I prove that works, we will aerial spray their asses with pig blood until they holler Uncle.
I hope Ned has an ammo subsidy. Buying that much ammo will stress the bank account.

JABIII created a monster! I loved every minute of it! Maybe it was the aroma of gun powder that got me. I was even stomping around in my dachshund p.j.'s & wearing camo boots. The madras "clam diggers" & scducks t-shirt, did not improve my image any, (good thing I wasn't trying to pick-up men). I was/am not a hunting fashionista.![]()
