These were shot within 200 yards of each other today in Nebraska.

Got back in late last night..

Hunting was pretty good..killed 7...I don't know WTF happen but the "whiffing" bug must have jumped into someones carry-on before we left...there were 5 birds missed!!!

However, we did manage to shut down the local bar 2x, ran a "bad guy" outta town old western cowboy style, we all gained 10lbs from steaks, liquor, and PBR, met a few new contacts and acquired some new hunting ground, got some great camera safari trophies and stayed outta jail........overall the trip was a success

A group of guys hunted our place the week before we got up there and they took 6 off the property so our birds had been fucked with pretty bad ....we still managed to scratch em out but it was a little tougher than years past...

I'm sure Pgiz will be along shortly with more pics and some erroneous fluff'd up BS of why he whiff'd 2x before connecting on a damn FINE bird...don't worry, I choked it up on the last day and missed a beast at 40yds..

    The bird I killed ...I long-gunned Pgay and dropped the hammer on a 1 3/8" spur'd 10" bearded 19lb limb hanger..

Pbiz came in second with a stud @ 1 5/16" 10" beard and 18lb limbhanger

OH killed a snow white bird in the fuckin mountains...they kicked our ass that day..all over em..seen 10 different gobblers and only managed to kill 1 and i missed 1...it was hell trying to hunt them in the "mountains" ...if we wouldn't have drank the bar outta boozes and liquor that night we probably woulda stacked em up pretty good that last morning

I was on the verge of sending my bird to Callie Morris or Shane ...I thought about it really hard ...if he woulda been a little more cream/white and not so "typical rio" his ass woulda been on dry ice and in the mail that afternoon ....his spurs were sharp as they come!!!

My phone/camera dicked up on me for most of the trip so Philip and the other boys have the majority of the pics...

I'm sure he'll be along in a lil while with a lit more..every time i turned around I was waiting on him to put his damn camera back up...it was more of a Nat Geo picture expedition than a hunting trip ..Hahaha

I never take enough pictures. Some day when I am relegated to the rocking chair, I will regret that.

Congrats again on a great expedition!!

Fine work Ian. The tips on that one are as white as they come in that part of NE. Those are also some rare hooks for that part of the world.

Glad y'all stayed on em and made it back in one piece. Let's coordinate better next year and run Paxton together.

10-4...sounds good!!! Thanks alot for your contacts too...we never "bit" on them...I picked up permission to hunt about 2miles of property along the South Platte and we made about a 60mile hike south to the McCook area and hunted some more land where OH killed his snowy tip'd bird...

We were late getting out there this year...usually hit it the first week of May but we all had other "obligations" to take care of and the other group locked their dates in before us but we've already locked in our dates for next year...
