15'' transom/Long shaft motor

Riva' ........ like D's said ...... do it right ...... either build up the transom for the 20" motor or sell the 20" and find a 15".

The advantage to building up the transom is stopping excessive backwash when coming off plane, especially if having to 'chop' the throttle. Just make sure you build it up properly (aka strong).

I got no dog is in this fight but I think the great Tater is confused since rivaman is the one that started this thread. So how or why would he need to take a backseat to himself? I believe the part that has teh Great Tater confused is when the other gentleman provided the dry weight of the motor.

Back on topic the easiest would probably be to trade for a short shaft motor. Second to that would be to build up the transom if you have the knowledge and materials.
