Back to the original topic, I'd be willing to bet that there is a direct correlation between the guys who are around this site in April, May, June, and July and the guys who are either good experienced hunters, or guys like me who realize they don't know everything about duck hunting, are still a fair bit green, but they want to do things te right way. Im 30 and I've been in the woods since 6th grade chasing deer, turkey, squirrels, and doves, but I just started hunting ducks 3 years ago. I see it more as a life long learning experience. The more I learn, the more joy I get from simply watching a bird go from frantically flapping to wings cupped, to landing gear down, and bang! When I first started, yeah there were a few moments of reaction shots just at the site of a bird, but I'm at an age where I don't want to mess around. Rubber heads have bothered me turkey hunting and deer hunting all my life, and those same principals I was taught growing up transfer fairly easily to the swamp/marsh. I hope when I'm 46 I'm half as knowledgeable as guys like duckman, JAB, sprig, etc. I also know that since for the most part I'm teaching myself the process might take a bit longer than those of you whose fathers taught them how it's done. Thanks to the guys who've helped me out how ever they could here and set me straight when I needed it.

man so much hate, esp for another.. man can we all not just get along. just be thankful... for all the places some of the ole timers on here have laid out for you and the one's after you. trust me your little favorite holes are well know to alot. some older and some younger. no need to jump fences. because at one time when you get caught up on a fence someone who you have offended will be the one to help you over that fence.

I will say this. It is very hard to try to learn how to duck hunt and how to do it the right way. I have NOONE in my family that is into duck hunting at all. So I have had to learn everything from trial and error. Yet I have only been duck hunting for the last 4 years. This year has been the year that I have truely payed attention to what the older generation has said and starting looking at wind speed's and directions and what decoys to use in which area and how many i should use. Like others have said. this sport you constantly learn.
